The Galois Group is the official organization of the graduate students of the U.C. Davis Mathematics Department.
Tabulating/Election Method: Again, suppose we have n candidates for k elected positions. The score tabulators will assign (n) points to every number 1 ranked candidate, (n-1) points to every number 2 ranked candidate, etc. Then the tabulator will add up all points for every candidate. At this point the k candidates with the most points will be elected to the k open positions.
Notes: 1. In case of a tie of points that doesn't allow the tabulator to distinguish the top k point getters from the other (n-k) candidates then the candidate with the lowest point total will be erased from ALL voters' rankings. At this point the tabulation/election method will be repeated. This process continues until the top k point getters' points can be higher than the other candidates' points, thus allowing the tabulator to elect the top k point getters. 2. The top point getter elected to be a GSA representative will be elected as the Lead GSA representative. In case of a tie, all candidates not involved in the tie are removed from ALL ballots and the Borda count method is used again to tabulate the top point getter.
